Fitness Town and the Grind for Kids!

Supporting BC Children’s Hospital Through Fitness

It’s the Grind season again, do you know what that means? Fitness Town is challenging you to push yourself for a great cause and join our The Fitness Town Summit Seekers team. If you can’t make it out this season, no worries! We are accepting cash donations at any of our lower mainland Fitness Town locations.

For the 5th straight year, The Fitness Town Summit Seekers will beGrouse Grind collecting pledges for the Grind for Kids. If you’re not sure how pledges work, here’s the scoop: The Fitness Town Summit Seekers each individually look for people such as family, friends or co-workers who would be interested in pledging money for every time they do the Grouse Grind. For example, if you pledged $1 for every time I did the Grouse Grind and I made it up 10 times, you would give me $10 to fulfill your pledge. All pledges and cash donations collected will go towards benefiting the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. Do you want to get fit, stay active and help support the kids at BC Children’s Hospital at the same time? If yes, then join us this summer and make a difference in your community.

About the Grouse Grind and Grind for Kids

The Grouse Grind is a 2.9-kilometer trail with 2,800 feet of vertical gain up the face of Grouse Mountain. It is commonly referred to by Vancouverites as “Mother Nature’s Stairmaster.” Over 100,000 Grinds were completed last year. There is a $20 registration fee which will in return get you an official Grind Timer at Grouse Mountain Guest Services that tracks your progress in real time.

Since it’s establishment in 2010, the Grind for Kids focuses on raising moneyGrouse Grind for the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. Each year, thousands of people in the Lower Mainland complete the Grouse Grind, located on Grouse Mountain, British Columbia. As explained earlier, in order to contribute people sign up and ask friends, family and co-workers to pledge $1 or more for every Grouse Grind they do between June and October. At the end of the season, all participants will share their success with the people who have pledged them and request they fulfill their pledges. One-time donations are also accepted at any Fitness Town store! In three years alone, over 13,000 Grouse Grinds have counted towards BC Children’s Hospital Foundation and over $450,000 has been raised for BC’s sick kids.

New for 2015!

This year the Grind for Kids is partnering with an cpHasHeart_alternatelogov_200_CMYKorganization that really knows how to get to the heart of the matter. With the “CP Has Heart” initiative, Canadian Pacific (CP) will be matching every dollar you raise to benefit BC Children’s Hospital. This means that your efforts go further in making an impact on the kids in your community.

Make a Difference Today

Do you know a friend, family member or neighbour that have had a first hand experience at BC Children’s Hospital? Whether you or someone you care about has been impacted by their efforts, it’s critical that we give youth in BC the medical help they need. Again, if you’d like to get involved in this initiative, there are 2 ways you can help:

  1. Join the Fitness Town Summit Seeker’s Team
  2. Donate at any Fitness Town location

We are looking for loud, full of energy, go-getters to have fun in participating in the Grind for Kids in June through to October. This initiative is filled with fun as you explore the great nature BC has to offer while volunteering for a great cause. If you’d like to know more information about this event, please view our Grind for Kids page on our website, contact 1-855-417-1111, or visit any Fitness Town location in BC!

Thank you for making every Grouse Grind count! Together we can make a difference and raise a mountain of money for the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation!
